Of course, our position is that Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perl (and a lot of other folks if we could find a noose big enough) should be tried and hanged for treason, but it's going to be hard to convince the rest of the country of that. It may NOT be as hard to convince the rest of the country that this low, creepy, unprincipled, vindictive asshole DELIBERATELY AND KNOWINGLY revealed the identity of an undercover CIA agent!
It won't be easy, but if we all wish real hard, maybe we can get him sent to jail and subjected to a buggering that no matter how prolonged and brutal will not compare to the royal screwing he has been the prime mover in handing America, Iraq and the rest of the world.
If that concept floats your boat, if you're fantasizing about glossies of the new Karl Collection of big house fashions, then DON'T listen to the pundits! This story doesn't have to fade away or die in the summer vacation news vacuum. The democrats don't have to give up on it because they're out-numbered. Reasonable and reasonabley interested people using the internet and other media to keep the pressure on can help this story have a happy ending. After all, the other side is on the record to help us...
Former Republican Party chairman Ed Gillespie: "I think if the allegation is true, to reveal the identity of an undercover CIA operative -- it's abhorrent, and it should be a crime, and it is a crime."
Asked by MSNBC's Chris Matthews if it would be worse than Watergate, he said, "Yeah, I suppose in terms of the real world implications of it. It's not just politics."
George W. Bush said when this leak became public that he "welcomed the investigation" and called the leak a "criminal action." He pledged that anyone found to be the source would be "taken care of".
